Are you an active person looking to maintain your fitness and mobility or an office worker wanting the aches and pains from your desk-bound job to melt away?
Sports massage uses a targeted approach to focus on specific areas of your body that need attention. This could be as a result of injury, poor posture, repetitive strain or overuse. I use strong pressure levels to reach deep layers of muscle and connective tissue and techniques such as stretching, compression, friction and trigger point therapy.
Whilst you might come to me with a sports massage in mind, I will take the approach of assessing what is best for your body and include cupping, needling or taping where needed.
Dry needling is a modern and scientifically supported treatment to bring additional benefits to your injury, maintenance or wellbeing treatment.
This powerful therapy treats injury and muscle pain, provides relief for your muscular aches or stiffness and offers improvements to flexibility and range of motion. Fine, stainless steel needles are inserted in or around trigger points to relieve mild to moderate pain by sending instant healing messages to your body.
Cupping is a highly effective treatment to aid your recovery from a range of injuries and muscle imbalances. It also softens tight muscles in preparation for massage.
Vacuum cups are applied to the skin to increase the flow of blood and other nutrients to specific areas. This flushes out waste products and kickstarts the healing process. Muscles warm and soften, tissues hydrate and areas of tension experience welcome relief.
Are you looking for a massage therapy that will relax and rejuvenate tired muscles?
Rather than focusing on a specific area or injury, deep tissue massage works on the whole body. Without treating a particular issue, it acts like an MOT for your entire body. You will experience deep pressure that allows your body to unwind from your busy life.
With some minor injuries, the use of kinesiology tape can bring with it a range of benefits when used as part of your sports massage treatment.
The tape’s elasticity supports your injured areas, and the pressure from its application improves blood flow, reduces swelling and alleviates. Keeping the tape secured for as long as possible can also protect the injury by restricting movement in the damaged area.
The yoga I practice and offer is Hatha Yoga. One of the original Eastern schools of yoga, Hatha is accessible to everyone. It focuses on using gentle but challenging poses to teach us how to meditate and still our minds. As a result, you will become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and learn to manage them rather than become overwhelmed by them.
Hatha Yoga will also help you to relax and unwind. It can unfold you from your desk or commute at the end of a busy day and help prepare your body for a good night’s sleep.
I offer classes and 1:1 sessions online and in person at a variety of locations. Alternatively, I can visit you in the comfort of your home. The times and length of sessions are designed to fit with your busy lifestyle. This includes 40-minute lunchtime sessions and 1 hour evening classes.
